8 Cool Summer Fruits and Veggies to Eat

1. Cucumbers- Made up of 95% water, cucumbers are the perfect veggie to keep you hydrated during the hot summer months. Cucumbers also contain a diuretic property that increases the flow of urine as well as flushing toxins out of the body.

2. Peaches-Seasonal during the summer, peaches contain vitamins A and C, both of which boost healthy skin.

3. Watermelon-Eating a fresh slice of watermelon is synonymous with summer, so it’s no surprise that it’s also good for you to eat. Watermelon contains nutrients that boost heart and bone health as well.

4. Melon-If you want that summer glow, melons are the fruit for you. Melons not only have vitamins A and C, but also lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that helps fight signs of ageing.

5. Greens- Leafy greens such as kale, spinach, and romaine lettuce all have a high water content and are easy to digest, giving you a boost of energy for the day.

6. Pineapple- Antioxidants found in pineapples prevent signs of ageing such as wrinkles and fine lines. Additionally, pineapples contain bromelain, an enzyme that reduces inflammation in the body.

7. Lemon- Highly acidic, lemon on its own provides a cooling effect on your body as well as help restore your body’s pH balance. Add some lemon slices to plain water for a more refreshing summer drink.

8. Tomatoes-Not only are they delicious in salads, but they are the perfect veggie to eat on their own. Tomatoes have high amounts of Vitamin C as well as high levels of lycopene, which  protects your skin against sun damage.
